ZEX LT1 kit.. Opinions?

I'm building up a forged 383, and will be spraying a fairly large shot on it. Just wondering if anyone has used or currently uses a ZEX LT1 kit on their car, and how it worked out for you?

I like the idea of something being able to meter fuel based on bottle pressure, and thats what the Zex kit "claims". Just wanting some REAL (as in you own one, not you know someone who knows someone kinda deals) experiences with it...

My alternate is a dual TNT shot (which I KNOW works )..

TIA

I've been interested in this kit as well. I remember a while back one of the Chevy rags had a short article on an install with one.

Being new to nitrous, I need all the help I can get with safety stuff. Either way, I know when I get it I won't have just a bottle, nozzle and a button 'cause I can't afford to blow up a motor doing something stupid. Just wanna stay in the safe range, I'm thinking of something like a dual stage fogger setup with PLENTY of window switches.

Zex is absolutely CRAP ... nothing abut their kit makes sense...

i wouldnt trust it as far as i can throw it with a full bottle...

buy an NX or TNT ... do it right .. with a heater ur pressure will always be optimum anyway ...

Is ZEX for real, crap? I was wanting to get their dry kit for my 97 Camaro. I would only spray a 100 shot. I was told by another mechanic who has installed the same setup on his car and he said it worked fine.

i have dealt with ZEX on a friends car,it's an OK system for begninners.

no way would i use for any amount of large nitrous hits, for the simple reason that it cant flow enough to run a big shot.
if i remember, they are absolutely limited to a 150 hit. I have seen the solenoids inside the ZEX box,and they are no bigger then basic NOS powershot solenoids at best.

Better off with NX or TNT or NOS for a large shot,as those systems are designed with higher HP in mind

a friend of mine has the Zex kit and he loves it. its like heroin. first it was just at the track, then it was just if he needed it on the street, then it was after he beat them just to embarrass them.

so as you can see hes been through quite a few fills and no problems at all.

and the kits is so easy to install its not funny.

we had never done a n20 set up before and it only took like 2 1/2 hours. and most of that was running the line. doesnt get easier than that.

but it does limit you to a not so big shot. but thats why he went with Zex. less chance of damage.

Thanks for the replies :)

After a little more research and more some good info on the ZEX kit, I'm thinking it would be more cost effective for me to go with the TNT setup. What I originally had in mind were two independant ZEX kits running from a dedicated pump, but I think I'm going to stick with the tried and true TNT (still two shots mind you, I don't fully trust the progressive controllers I've seen first hand).

So, it looks like a dedicated fuel cell up front with race gas, dedicated FP and regulator, and dual TNT shots. Should make things interesting until I break some more stuff.

Again, thanks for the replies and info fellas..
