Would anyone be interested in a device that would open your bottle opener when you activated your main nitrous switch, and closed it when you shut the nitrous off? Keep you from forgetting to open the bottle adn having to press that extra switch.

Let me know what you would pay for something like this if anyone is interested

in all honesty i doubt there is much of a market. if you already have the automatic opener, all you need is an additional relay or 2 to open/close it when you arm the system.

BUT,most openers that dont restrict flow (unlike the NOS brand) take time to open, and most people are usually wanting instant gratification when they arm the system.

The circuit for this is pretty easy to build - I used two timer boards running a 555 controller and modified the value of the capacitor to give me a ~5 second pulse to a relay. One timer was used to open, the other was to close, each one had its own relay. I think it was around $30 to build it with Velleman kits.

I built another timer circuit to control the bottle heater. It would automatically turn off the heater after 45 minutes in case I forgot that I had left it on.

I had some pictures on my website HERE, but have since abandoned this setup. I even had it so it would work with a WOT switch only, or I could plug in a hand held switch instead and the whole system was armed with a key switch. In all honesty, it seemed a bit too complicated, so I ditched it.

I have been considering using some of it though - like the keyed master arm switch and the bottle opener timers again.

Serene, do you have any pictures of the device you're considering selling? I know that a couple of years ago there was a company selling complete timing circuits for automotive use pretty cheap.
