Who sprays with their exhaust un-capped.....

Next time out to the track, i'd like to run with my exhaust uncapped while i'm spraying. Never done it before and am just wondering what kind of ET improvement I would see. Only really had one half way decient run on the bottle so far before my stock clutch gave up. I've got heads, cam and the works. It's a 6spd with 4:10's. My one decient run was a 12.60 with only a 2.0 60ft on ET streets, but it ran 120 mph. Think my clutch was giving up on that one. My second run, I launched it and it just sat on the line. Oops! I'm running a 150 shot dry kit. Anyway, I have a street twin to put in it now but was curious about what kind of gains can be expected by running uncapped vs. 1 3/4" headers thru a high flow cat and cat back. Thanks in advance.

You'll gain just like running with an cutout during an all motor pass.

I ran open long tubes when I had the bottle with no problems.

"Yo, dude, whatever, just make sure northing gets burned up by the blue flame that comes out of your exhaust when you activate the naaaaaws, or you'll end up loosing all of your floorpan bolts!"

I run my cutout open on every bottle pass. I'm sure it's good for at least a tenth or two on the dope.

Injector size.....

Derrick Reed, just read another post above this one where you talked about injector size. I'm running 24lb svo's with a 150 dry shot. How will going to a larger size help me out? I'm gonna do a search on your old post but was just curious. On the dyno, my A/F runs lean at the beginning of my pull (about 14.5) and then tappers down richer by the end of the run (about 11.8 @6000rpm). Would a bigger injector size help out in the A/F department in the lower rpm's when I first hit the nitrous? I've got the stock in tank pump with the holley booster pump. I haven't got any detonation, but would sure like to richen up the bottom end a bit.
As for the un-capped exhaust, if it's an improvement, i'll take it. You never know when i'll have to beat a train through a crossing or launch my car off a draw bridge during a race! Thanks guys.
