Where should I mount my nitrous bottle? Poll!
Ok, I am trying to decide where to mount my bottle.
Should I mount it in the car (either behind the passenger seat, or on the driveshaft hump) or in the well?
There are pros and cons to each.
INSIDE PROS:
-In sight and intimidating as hell
-Right within my reach if I want to use it
-I can use my subs
INSIDE CONS:
-Cops might hastle me if I get pulled over
-EVERYONE knows I have nitrous
-Tech Inspector at the track might not like it
WELL PROS:
-Out of sight
-More stealthy
WELL CONS:
-Can't use my subs anymore
-Can't reach the bottle readily
-Have to use bottle opener if I want on the fly use (I really don't trust them)
I DON'T want to mount it in the spare tire well.
Help me decide!
Thanks,
Eric

Here is where I mounted mine, behind the rear seat area.
By not hiding the bottle it keeps the "idiots" away. As far as cops go, screw it. If they already have me pulled over, that bottle makes little difference. In fact a few cops have asked about the bottle, had me open my hood, and let me go without even a warning. Most cops are gearheads at heart, and they always love muscle cars.

How did you mount it there?
I was thinking about putting it there, but couldn't figure out how to put the nuts on the bolts from underneath with the gas tank there.
Let me know.
Thanks,
Eric

Spare tire well. Just mounted mine there a few weeks ago. I did have it where the t-tops were, but I got tired of stacking them on the rear deck. I sold my sub box and bought a JL stealthbox. Now I have bass, t-top slots, and a hidden bottle...you can't go wrong.
I vote for mounting it on the hump. Through a towel over it or in my case a duffel bag and play dumb. The cops can't say anything if the bottle is closed and tech probably wouldn't mind as long as you had a blowdown tube I would think.

Who sells a bottle bracket that will work inbetween the rear seats? I have mine in the cargo area now, but don't like it there.

My vote went behind the seat.
Mount it on the hump between rear seats. I built a small box that would make the bottle the right angle and covered it with black speaker box cover, then the bottle is in reach to turn off and on and the guage is in site. This makes it nice when the unsusspected vette pulles up .
