What's causing my high r missing?
What's causing my high r missing?
I'm pretty sure I'm not getting enough fuel. I'm running a 75 shot on a simple push button dry system. No safety equipment. I only run the car once a year at the track and hit the button maybe 5 times a year. I know the gamble I play, but my problem is this; one out of three runs when I hit around 5400 rpms the car will seem to go lean on the button, acts like I hit the rev limiter in all gears. My buddies say they see a hint of white smoke puff out, which means not enough fuel, right. I hit the button after 3000 rpms and let off right before it shifts each time, unless it starts stuttering as such. I have it programmed to pull 2 degrees of timing also and shift at 5850. It won't do it everytime. I'm wondering if I'm not pumping enough fuel or my fuel pressure isn't enough. I was going to throw an inline pump in even though I know a intake upgrade would be better. Car only gets out a few times a year though. Could forgeting to turn my fans off of high draw to much voltage away from the pump. I did forget to do that once or twice. I meant to scan it, but didn't have my laptop along. Any suggestions would be great.

What gap are you running on your plugs (and what plugs)?

Can't remember plugs, but there what people on here are running for nitrous and gaped at stock gap. I think there AC delco, put not platinum when I changed them.
Re: What's causing my high r missing?
Rev limiter is set at 6100 and it's programmed to shift between 5800 and 5850 depending on gear. It seems to run the best off the bottle at those rpm's. I pulled a 13.3 in the quarter with no juice, and that's with just shorties, cia, catback, and programming. On the juice and not everytime, is where I get the hesitation after like 5400 rpm's. I can avoid it, by letting off the button at this rpm and wait till it shifts. I would like to hold it through a shift though.
