Question What cam are you guys running with N2O?

Im looking for a good cam to run with ported stock heads and N2O. Thinking maybe cc306 or 305. What do you think?

As a rule you want more duration and lift on the exhaust such as the cc306. Also if planning on using nitrous all the time a 114 lobe separation would be a good idea. Stock LT1s love nitrous,Why? Big lobe separation(116) and split duration cam.

A REALLY good N2O cam for ported stock heads on a 1995 LT1 is what I have.

It's a Comp XE 224/236, 113+5 lsa.

With this cam, my 4400lb land whale ran a 13.08 and 107.15 NA.
It also ran an 11.67 and 119.28 on the juice.

I have stock ported iron heads (Impala) and this cam, otherwise stock internals.

George,
I looked at your web site; nice! What piece of safety equipment are you referring to, that will shut off the N20 in the event the O2 millivolts drop to 600-800? Is this something you are going to build?

Thanks,
Jeff

If running stock unported heads I would go with the CC305. If using some sort of ported head weather LT4-1 then probally the CC306. Both cam are proven to make great power. I have the CC305 with stock heads and love it. Really runs great and drives great also. I am going to spray it soon like tonight, would have done it earlier but problems keep stopping me. But I think we have them all solved out. Also I no the stock cam must love it another member on the board(Rockafella-BJ Deans) he runs 12.7's on motor, the other night with just a NX 100 shot ran a best 11.3@118 mph with a 1.62 60' thats stock heads, cam, suspension and all just bolton's.

Later Jason

Hey Jeff,

This is a little black box I'm building. Input will be from the O2s, and output is connected to the N2O and fuel relays.

I consider it the ultimate safety device.

I will also do one for my buddy with a blower. We'll add an extra fuel injector right behind the throttle body, and if he starts going lean, the injector will turn on.

When it's all put together and it works, I'll post it in this section.

Unless you are planning on setting up the motor strictly for nitrous, your best bet is to put in a cam that works well N/A and have it ground on a 114 LSA. The 305 cam on a 114 is an excellent choice IMO. It sounds like George's cam he listed is another great choice. I am personally not a big fan of the 306 cam, but opinions vary.
