TNT or NX
TNT or NX
I am doing the conversion from my dry NOS kit (5176) to a wet kit. I really like the looks of the TNT kit with the plate in front of the T-body. A few of my friends sold their NX kits to buy the TNT kits for their cars too. They all have said the quality is even better than NX and so are the numbers they are putting down. I do realize the jetting is alot bigger on the TNT kit.
I would really like to know the truth of which is better??? Or is it really personal preferance??? I am also looking for the kit that is easiest to tune. I am looking for an air fule ratio in the low 11's so the set up will run very phat.
By the way I am planning on a 150-200 shot and am wondering if my fuel system will keep up??? I have 42# injectors a NOS in-line fuel pump and a Walboro 225lph in-tank pump as well?
Thanks for any help!

I think that you will find that most of the N20 users on this board prefer NX because of its tried and proven reputation. NX is more conservative but thats not a bad thing with nitrous espeically if your still stock on the bottom end. You can always change your jets to be more aggressive(NX use to have a more aggressive jetting chart.....makes you wonder why they changed...im sure they had good reasons). Anyway, wideband tuning is the only sure way to run closer to the edge.
As for TNT.....I cant say anything bad about them and would use their stuff if didnt use NX.

I just got a TNT system and looks great! havn't hooked it up yet, but I came to the decision to buy the TNT over the NX after a whole lot of reading. The NX systems look great but I favor the TNT for now anyways
My vote is for NX, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the kit other than they should include a set of ET Streets with it
The car is bone stock (internally) and I'm running stock injectors and have the Walbro 255 intank, also have a MSD-6AL ignition with Autolite 104's and ran the time in the sig (which can be bettered, have yet to make a full pass. 1st pass ever was bouncing off the rev limiter and still went 92mph, and second pass I backed out of her because I felt as if it didnt want to shift, being overly cautious!!). Never seen anyone locally with the TNT kit, so I can't compare the two first hand. Later.
Joe.

I put a TNT nitrous kit in my friends 96 TA and I have put the NX Kit in some of my other friends caars. But I bought the NX kit because I liked it better. I can't see any performance differences between the two, BUT the NX kit goes in A LOT neater!!! but it is personal prefference. My friend (96 TA) likes a lot of things on his car, like switchs and lights and nitrous lines. The TNT kit has a TB Plate with 2 Fogger Nossels on it and that means 2 times the nitrous lines, and T fittings and stuff. I Don't like all that stuff. That is my 2 cents. Good Luck, with your project!
I have put in several kits, both TNT and NX, and I think the quality of the TNT kits is better. They give you better wire, a roller tip WOT switch (a huge plus I think), Stainless Steel Nozzles, and what I feel is a better delivery system. In the end, It is your choice, but several of my friends with NX kits are switchiong to TNT after seeing and riding in my car.
Take that for what it is worth.

I am now wondering how much I should ask for my kit (NOS #5176). The only thing is I am keeping my bottle, the line run through the car and the fuel pump. What do you guys think?
I also am kind of set on the TNT kit. A buddy of mine is spraying a 150 shot and using a 200 shot fuel jet to stay on the rich side, and he picked up 15mph in the quarter on a stock motor.
Thanks for all your help guys!!!
