TNT fuel solenoid problems?
TNT fuel solenoid problems?
A good friend and I were discussing nitrous systems recently, and he mentioned that he thought there was a problem with a fuel solenoid in someone's TNT kit.
The same friend had one of the first TNT LS1 kits a couple years ago. Other than 2 very minor problems (we had trouble getting the power ring to fit & the paint on the bottle was not as nice as hoped for) the kit performed well and he was very pleased with it. Keep in mind this was one of the first kits, so little things like this can be expected.
After seeing the TNT LT1 kit installed on Morepower4me's (sp?) car, I decided that when I finally purchase a kit, it would be the TNT. Then my friend and I had the fuel solenoid conversation - so I'm curious what the story is on the solenoids. Anyone know?
Thanks

The main thing is that TNT, NX, Wilson, Fastlane and probably a few others all use the same solenoids....
I don't know the incidents you mentioned, butfor the most part, solenoid error is usually caused by installer/user problems, and possibly lack pof maintenence.
I wouldn't sweat it. Get it on its way!

Yeah, The solenoids are made by the same company for a lot of the brands. It is possible to get a bad Fuel or N20 solenoid, but almost all companies do some sort of checking before you get the kit, so I would not worry to much
Thanks for the Compliments.

Although all the companies buy their solenoids from the same company, the NX solenoids have a special coil pack that allows them to offer lifetime warranty. The coils are heavy duty, and sealed. At least when John Stewart was around this was the case. As for the differences, it would mainly be the sizes from company to company. I believe, but not 100% sure, that TNT uses the larger .125 nitrous solenoid on all their kits, where NX only uses that on their Pro Power kits. I could be wrong however, so dont hold me to it!
