I just bought a nitrous outlet kit and was wondering how I should make sure I don't blow up my car. Its a heads/cam LT1 and I am running a MSD6Al right now with a big *** mallory coil. Question is, I have been reading that most people use the 685 or something instead of a 6AL? Would it be worth selling the MSD and picking up the other kind?
Also, I was wondering if I can spray before WOT as I rarely see that, its a DD. So this would be for the "track", wink wink.
I understand not spraying below 3k but can I get a window switch and have it come on at 3k and just go until I let off or hit say 6k?
And, any ideas on hiding a plate? Its gonna be fairly obvious no?

How big of a shot are you wanting to use? If under 100 the general consensus is that it's not mandatory to pull timing. Over 100 then it's 2 degrees per 50hp.
I personally am getting the 685 for the window AND timing aspect. (150 shot planned)
What's the point of spraying if you aren't WOT?! That's a GREAT way to blow the motor.
Is your car a M6 or auto?

Its an auto, and I wanna spray a 100 shot.
And technically WOT is 6200 but I just don't want to spin it that high.

Do you have a stall? I have a 3200 and I plan on spraying from 4000-5800.
Its a heads/cam with a 3200 stall.

WOT is WOT!! TB or carb blades all the way open. If your combo redlines at 6200 so be it. If you do run nitrous, you can lower your shift points some and lose very little if any performance.Originally Posted by ShownomercyZ28

Ok, I guess 6200 it is. I guess I should start saving for a rebuild soon.

Can I use this as a WOT switch and window?

WOT yes, but I don't think it can pull timing. I'm using a Mallory 685 for that. Nitrous Outlet can set you up with that and anything else you might need.Originally Posted by ShownomercyZ28

If you do this right, it might be a while before you need a rebuild. So far mine is still in one piece. Almost 500rwhp on the stock bottom end.
Thats the big hope, do it right and have it last.
