SVO injectors with nitrous....

I'm running some svo injectors on my Z and they have always been kinda noisy. Anyone out there running another type of injector with their nitrous setup that isn't as noisy? I'm running the LT1 dry kit so I need to have an injector that isn't prone to lock up. Any suggestions or is an SVO my only choice. Thanks.

There are plenty of other choices. I think Bosch, Holley, MSD,and Lucas all make alternatives, to name a few. Jack at Racetronix (www.racetronix.com) has a very good knowledge of injector options.

Question Josh...

Quick question Josh. I was looking at the 37lb Lucas injectors in Racetronix and noticed they were not a pintle type. Being that i'm using a dry kit on my Camaro which doubles the Fuel pressure once the nitrous kicks on, do you or anyone else out there know if this is a safe injector to use with my set up that will not potentially lock up like a stock injector? Just curious. Thanks.

The SVO is basically a Bosch pintle style injector. Some Ford injectors are made by Denso, but that is the Bosch design, licensed to Denso.

I run 64# Bosch injectors at 58psi. At 800hp, with dry nitrous, my duty cycle is 70% or less. The pintle style seems to be very well suited to the elevated pressures.

I used the 24# Ford/Denso injectors with the NOS 5176 dry kit on my bolt-on motor, and they seemed to work well at the 85-90psi that kit used.

Not sure how the Lucas disc-style injector responds to pressure.

Ball and disk style do great with raised pressure. In the dsm world alot of the fastest people use ball and disk with fuel pressure going up to 85+lbs. Plus they give a much better spray pattern than pintle injectors. I know DSM`s arent Fbody`s but fuel pressure from a walboro 255 at a base 45lbs and rising to 75 under boost is the same no matter what its in. Unless of coarse I`m wrong.

1. I ran SVO's to 90PSI with no problems on my dry kit.
2. Jack from Racetronix specifically told me NOT to run high fuel pressure on my disk (Lucas) injectors.
