Yeah, I had much worse leaks with the manifolds, and it never ran this rich. When I first put the headers on, gas mileage jumped up, then I changed to my o2's I had in my manifolds, and I think they got contaminated with anti-sieze b/c gas mileage dropped, so I put the other ones back in, and mileage went up a little. I am gonna put in the new o2's tonight, and check my fuel pressure. If the o2's dont help the rich condition at all, im gonna be replacing a header gasket saturday

Well I verified the fuel pressure. 42 at idle, 50 at idle with the fuel pressure regulator unplugged from the vacuum hose. It was about 45 to 47 during WOT. I am not sure why it keeps pulsing like it does. I am going to try and adjust the FPSS on it.

My car ran this way twice, once was a sparkplug wire that got to hot and was arcing off. Run the car when it gets dark and look for any arcs under the hood by the headers. The second time it was a header leak and the car was completely flooding out with fuel.

Please do not take this remark the wrong way because I do not mean it as being a smart_ _ _.

Back to your original post from last week.

I tried to get you to check the fuel pressure and adjust the FPSS at that time. Here is my reasons. Your car is all bolt ons. No cam No heads. Your stock fuel pump should have no problem supporting a 100 shot and a 150 pushing it.

You said when you by-passed the FPSS the system worked fine. So this told me it was a fuel flow delivery or the fpss needed to be adjusted.

The way to go about checking is to verify fuel pressure at WOT. Then if Fuel pressure is good you know the fuel pressure safety switch has to be adjusted.

For the record yes they are suppose to be pres set at 35psi. I have seen it give or take some. So they are not perfectly set. 99 percent of the installs I have done I had to reset the FPSS.

Adjust the fuel pressure safety switch and go have fun.

Well I pulled the FPSS off the car and rigged up a way to check it with a voltmeter and air pressure. It was dead on 35 psi. Im about to go run the car again and see what happens. Thanks for all the help Dave, I will let everyone know what happens. Also, I put the new o2's in.

Car ran better this time. It would still pop a little bit at high rpm's, but nothing like it was. I am gonna get me an electric fuel pressure gauge, so I can monitor it when I am spraying before I turn the fpss down any. I am to worried about toasting the motor, its my daily. Plus, the clutch is gettin about ready to go on me.

Dan, you said your car has ran that way twice, was it running that way NA or do you have nitrous on it?

When you flow the system does it still cut out when the fpss is hooked up.

Yes, but now it is only doing at about 4800+ rpm, but it is barely doing it. I tried adjusting the FPSS they way u said Dave, but when I did it that way with a friend, it never sputtered, it gave a perfect stream the whole time. I'm getting tired of messin with this thing. I need to get me an electric fuel pressure gauge so I can monitor what is going on when I am spraying.

Mine ran that way NA, but you have to think about the strain of nitrous on a weak component. If it isn't failing NA the additional load might make the weak link more apparent.

I think I may just sell the kit. I have decided to go a different route with the car.

Did you give it a 3/4 of a turn back after taking it to the point that the fuel pressure safety switch started clicking?

Dont give up you are almost there. When you get it working ight it will be worth it.

The FPSS never clicked when doing the testing/adjusting. It sprayed perfect the entire time.
