sprayed on the dyno tonight!

i sprayed my 100 shot (NX kit) tonight on the dyno. we heated the bottle to 1000PSI before i shot, and here were my numbers:

off the bottle, i pulled 310.5hp and 335.2ft-lbs!

on the bottle, i pulled 406.7hp and 497.2ft-lbs!

that is a gain of 96.2hp and 162ft-lbs, on my bolt on 128,XXX mile LT1!

i am pulling 1* of spark, and am picking up no knock on the spray. i also am VERY rich when i sprayed. my A/F was almost perfect, then slopes all the way to 10:1 by 6k rpms. i think i am going to put a smaller fuel jet in. i am going to take the smallest jet in the kit and have it drilled to a 0.030" jet. right now it is a 0.033" jet. that should bring me where i want to be.

Thumbs up

Very impressive!! Over 96 HP on 100 shot, pretty accurate claims by NX if you ask me. I would love to get my car on the dyno and see what kind numbers it's pulling with and without the juice (150 shot! ). Have any track times yet?? Good luck, and keep on spraying!!! Later.

with some tuning i will be able to get the 100 shot over 100hp. with the 0.033" fuel jet in there i was very rich, so i am going to make a smaller fuel jet to bring it down a little. no track times yet, but even at the track, i cannot drive for squat (2.3-2.3 60" times are normal for me). once i get some good tires i will be there! we have our shootout at darlington next month, definately will be some times after that.

If you have the standard NX kit, try using the 31 fuel jet. I used this on my 100 shot after seeing the 33 was running rich too. Took my O2S values from about .920 to .870, about perfect.

How are you taking 1* out?

my ignition has a retard that can pull an adjustable amount of spark whenever a 12v source is connected. i have it switched to my arming switch so that when it is armed it pulls 1*.

my NX kit does not have a 31 (0.031") jet. the only jets are:
20
24
33
35
41
52
62

i am going to take the 20 and open it to a 31.

It's addictive! Be careful with a stock bottom end though. And keep in mind that being a little rich costs minimal hp, but a little lean costs a lot of $$$$. We aim for 11.5:1 on the dyno, but send cars out a bit richer to give a margin of safety on days with a low "density altititude", especially if the tuning was done on a day with poor air.

You got it to work so the box is always on and the retard is only applied when the system is armed? Dayum, ours wouldn't run for shiat with it like that. Might need some details in a while, got some stuff to do right now.

yeah, it works fine. i have it wired where when the arming switch is on, it pulls one degree. it does not have power to it at any other time.

Are you sure you had 500 ft lbs of torque on the juice?

The reason i ask - is ALOT of people seem to post their clutch slippage (or torque converter flashes) peak on their torque curve as their final number

For example - I dyno'd 3 weeks ago:

360/360 on motor

450/475 on the spray.

However, on that N20 run, the dyno chart spikes to 589 ft lbs of torque.... but I do NOT count that as it is not real. (clutch slipped for a split second when the N20 was engaged....)

So I suppose if I wanted to say I dyno'd 450 hp / 589 ft lbs of torque I could - but whats the point when thats not the real number?

Just curious.

no clutch slippage. i was already accelerating when i hit the arming switch. i hit the switch after i hit about 3200rpms. and the Spec stage III carbon is ot gonna slip from that!
