I usually use a very thin layer of the teflon paste instead on the NPT fittings.

The concern with using tape is the possibility of small pieces of the tape ending up inside the lines, and plugging filters and solenoids. If you're carefull with the tape, it works fine.

From what I have read and been told by the sponser companies, it is a very BAD idea to use tape on NPT threads. Make a trip down to the auto parts store and buy some teflon paste or red loctite.

The difference is that the paste will take up less room than the tape in between the threads, allowing more threads to be engaged in the tapered-thread joint. Keep in mind the pressures and temperature fluctuations we're dealing with... you want as many threads engaged as possible.

ill keep an eye on them, i got them all in there pretty good tho. and they all went in as far as they were before, which the guy i got the kit from used the paste, so i know the threads are in there as well as before.

Nothing wrong with the tape, as Injuneer noted, just be careful how it is applied. I use the paste just to eliminate any potential human error and carelessnes on my part.

heres some quick pics for ya guys....

got most of the nitrous stuff installed. have to wire everything up still and get my switch panel in the mail. also have to do the work in the back of the car with the bottle, brackets, heater and blowdowntube. o and both gauges need to be mounted and wired up, but i got a great start today on the plumbing and fitment of the system and the ignition box as well.....
