its true though.

i cant find the pics of number one piston, but i got it right here on my entertainment center. its got all kinds of cracks through it, and a chunk in the shape of a valve relief but a lil bigger is missing off the top of it, all the way down to the first ring land.

on that dry shot, my temp went up by about 20-40 degrees while i was spraying, then went back down a minute or so after i was done. the car ran like crap when i blew it, but i let it sit for about 5 min, cranked it back up, and all 8 cyl were firing.

drove it back to my apartment (as we were in the middle of nowhere racing) about 6-8 miles with an aweful click click click noise.

took the valve covers off, all the pushrods were clogged. but none were bent like we thought, so got the car taken back to atlanta and the motor rebuilt. thats the story.

now i am spraying a 120 wet shot, running 12.2's, and everything seems to be running well now that i am doing it right. and TR6 plugs now too

94,000 miles on stock, the 150 shot was nice but after 10 bottles i want more and my engine died atempting a 200 shot, was a rod, but the metals destroyed also the cylinder block.

What do you think about a 250 shot (wet)? on my 396, i returned the stock cam, stock heads, on 104 unleaded gas with no timming retard. rpm switch 2000-6000.
Can i handle that with out timing retard?
If matters the pistons are JE forged flat top, Eagle forged crank, and forged h beams rods.

Wet kits are great for small nitrous but if you get much above 150 you will see fuel distribution problems. I know it's possible to run a 200 dry PLUS a 125 wet kit on a stock LT1 if you know what you're doing. If not you can ruin it on a 75.

I would suggest pulling some timming out for that size of a shot. Also watch number 8 and make sure it is not going lean.

I didn't take out an engine, but a 20 year old t5 transmission behind a 2.8L v6 in an 85 camaro decided to grenade hard enough while I was going 70mph that it also took out my passenger's side front tire. 75 shot dry. 165k miles.

Re: So who Blew their Motor up on N20!

This is an awesome thread cause I am in the process of prepping the car ( All bolt ons first ) for N20, and a 255 fuel pump, either Bosch or Walbro.

As a side note from the origional thread, I seen a guy blow up a Focus motor running a dry kit, stock injectors, and fuel pump, on a 75 shot I believe? It was awesome to witness. There was a loud pop, followed by about 2 seconds of intense clacking grinding squeeling noises. Then it was over with. It was awesome while it lasted. Pump failed, blew/melted a piston down, that cylinder, the head gasket was toasted as well. The block was deeply scored. Its still in his garage though. No plans for a rebuild yet.

It seems like I could run a 100 Wet fine if I upgrade the fule pump then huh

Dry would be nice but I dont want to buy injectors twice, so I'll be running a wet kit until I build my forced induction, bottle fed, 383.

RSKRAUSE's car is my dream car.

I believe you can run a 100 wet fine with a stocker. True, an upgrade would help, but with a FPSS it is just fine.

Feel free to correct me, but I do believe it is okay.
