A buddy of mine (Nostang 96z) blew a chunk out of his #7 piston...
He was running a dry kit at the time and I am pretty sure it was the injector that failed in some way...
Here are a couple of the posts after it happened, actually I know he posted about it in the late 90's, but the old stuff has been gone for a while:

He actually disconnected that injector and drove it around for a little while, maybe he can get on and tell you more details...

Had a buddy running a 98 S10 w/ a LT1 T56... Running a CC305 cam on a stock motor. Had a dual stage 75 then 150 resulting in a final 225 shot. Made one pass going 11.11 and then the next pass he put a rod and piston through the oil pan... Pretty funny stuff. Oh yeah we determined the v6 fuel pump from when the s10 was stock caused the failure (no fuel equals big boom)

I took out a block with number 6 and 8 piston on a 400 shot.
I scratched my head for months trying to find out what happened. We flowed the nitrous system, checked fuel injectors and all.
We later found out than when one of our techs wired in the waterpump with no relay directly to the fuse box he had wired it to the same connection that supplied the voltage to the passengers side fuel injectors.
That was about a very costly mistake...

As long as you arent dumb LT1s will take some nitrous when set up right. Just gotta know what your doing and they will live a very long time. The only time I know some one breaking a stock motor was because it nitrous selinoid stuck open, they turned the car off and then turned it right back on. Even then I have seen some nasty LT1 N2o back fires where the most done was a destoryed elbow and air box, at most a bent TB blade.

blew it up with a Zex Kit. 75 shot. imagine that. 110k miles. platinum plugs
booooom, number one piston destroyed. of course it was a 40-140 run against my friends TA, so the noid was open for a while. ( a lot longer than the 15 second max recommended by most companies)
damage, number one piston cracked and chunk missing, spun 2 rod bearings and a main bearing. scored the block, but it only had to be bored .030 over to fix it.
after the rebuild, been sprayin a 75 shot wet for 6 months, then stepped up to a 120 shot and been runnin it for about 4 months now...oh, and changed to TR6 plugs
