small dry shot on a modded lt1

ok, according to the searches i have done, this is an effictive way to go faster, and ecoomical if you know where to get the stuff from. from what i have read, if you keep it under a 75 shot, spray through the maf (not directly on it though) and raise the fuel pressure a notch you should be ok. other than adding colder spark plugs have i missed anything? its either this or a gear for me this summer, just tring to make up my mind.

I like the wet kit as you can tune the jets (nitrous and fuel) to get a safe shot (dyno tuned with wideband O2) without messing up your standard tune (without nitrous). Run one heat range colder non-platinum plugs (Autolite 104's, NGK TR6's), a fuel pressure safety switch and a rpm window switch. I also like the bottle heater as you need proper nitrous pressure to get a consistent shot.

You can't spray through the maf on a 95'. That will only work on LS's, not LT's. You'll have to put your nozzle post-MAF.

Ummm, no. I have a 94 and used the Compucar Nitrous In A Bag kit spraying through the MAF an entire season. I sprayed with there smallest jet which for me was 80 hp on 91 octane without seeing any knock retard whatsover, and I always scan my runs. The MAF/PCM was COMPENSATING for the N2O by increasing the injector pulse widths to richen the mixture. I even used the next bigger jet for 120 hp on 100 octane. The PCM was compensating, but IMHO not as well as with the 80 hp jet. It was a slight bit leaner, but of course I still didn't have any KR because of the 100 octane.

If you do this just make sure the nozzle is placed 6-8" prior to the MAF to keep from freezing it.

I didn't trust the Compucar kit for any higher HP. I'm am now going with an NX wet kit for 150 HP. And I actually recommend a wet kit and jet it for 75 HP if that's all you want. Should be very safe, even with stock plugs, fuel pump, timing, etc.

I agree the wet kit would work well. Here is my choice for excellent quality and value for the price.

Also, I recommend going with a kit that will allow you to up the shot safely. Rather than what I did and had to sell my Compucar kit to a Mustang racer and start over.
