Shorted Out Fpss?
Shorted Out Fpss?
Has any one ran into a problem where their fuel pressure saftey switch shorted out through the housing?
When I hook my multimeter to the two leads to check continuity, it seems to work as should. Grounding out above 40psi. Now if I hook the Negative wire from my nitrous relay to the fpss and the other lead from the fpss to a ground it id grounded all the time?
I tested every lead of the relay and nitrous wireing for shorts and found that nothing. But if I probe one lead on the fpss and probe the 1/8" pipe thread fitting off the switch or where it is is mounted off of my adjustable fuel pressure regulator and gage it is grounded? I think that I have a bad fpss.
I set my switch up by putting a fitting on it and conecting it to my compressor and slowley decreasing the air pressure to set the cut off point (40psi) so I no it is set right.
Any body run into a bad switch?

I would greatly apprichiate it if someone could complete a quick check for me.
Check to see if there is any continuity between the inlet lead of your fpss and the 1/8" pipe thread it mounts with (with the car shut off or no fuel pressure).
I believe mine is grounded out internally to the mounting source, telling the switch or nitrous relay I have it hooked to, that it is always grounded or working even if I have no pressure. But from lead to lead on the fpss it works as it should and opens the loop when the fuel drops below 40psi.
Thanks

I am not sure of the part# but it is the NX one that is adjustable from 30-70 psi and it has two terminals. I called NX and had one of the tech guys test a couple and none of them were grounded out through the case. So I guess I am going to buy a new one.
