Running Mid 10s with a 383 and spray?

If I was running a race built 4L60E with a 3500 stall, a 12 bolt with 3.55 gears and a 383 with forged internals and ported heads and intake what shot would it take to run mid 10s? Like a 175? Thanks

I'm just going to take a guess here...but you'd pry need at the very least a 150 shot. I don't know if you have the LT4 heads and intake yet but I know you can get the LT4 kit from GMPP through Summit for $2,329.95. Gives you 425+ hp. You might want to invest in that and maybe some 3:73 or 4:11 gears.

Here's the link GMPP LT4 Conversion kit

you should be able to run mid 10's on a 150-175 shot with your 383 provided you get a cam too. You would probably want to get one on 114lsa so you make better use of the juice. Or you get a stright up nitrous cam, which would not be your best n/a choice but when it comes to the bottle it makes up for it. Depending on how good of a nitrous system you get you could run 9's. It would be a direct port of fogger kit though which are expensive. Plus hitting 250-300 shots you go through a lot of bottles of gas. But that will probably happen when you bored of running 10's.

It all depends on how you build the motor. If you build it right you should be able to do high 10s on motor and high 9s on a 150 shot. You shouldn't have a prob dipping deep into the 9s on a 300 shot. I would also consider going with a 396 instead of a 383 it's only a extra 100 dollars or so of machine work and the cranks should cost the same. It'll be easier to get their with more cubes. One other thing, I wouldn't count on a 4l60e holding up longer than a season, no matter who builds it, at that power level.

Yes I was also planning on going with a cam just left it out and lots of other things im gonna do. Oh btw the exaust will be full strait pipes. Im gonna go with the FLP long tubes with the removable cats and I have a 3 inch flowbaster exaust with just a y pipe instead of a muffler Oh and BTW will I have to run race gas when spraying or will 93 be fine?
