question on spraying out of the hole
question on spraying out of the hole
I'm pretty sure I got the drivetrain/suspension/tires to spray out of the hole. but I have a problem.
I want to set my 2-stage rev limit for 4K (probably going to go higher, but i'll just throw that number out there) rpms. Now if I have the pedal floored with the limiter on, the nitrous is going to kick on from the window switch.
When I shift into 2nd, i'll be at 3800 rpms. So I can't set the window switch any higher then that.
are there any tricks to getting around this, other then just having the pedal 3/4's of the way down on the line and floor it the rest of the way when I launch. I don't want to be bouncing it off the rev limiter and make my solenoids go crazy.

If you're spraying out of the hole, why do you have to stall it to 4,000RPM? Just bring it up to a couple hundred RPM under your window switch setting, and put it to the floor when the lights come down. The nitrous will drive the converter to its max flash stall. Hold on.......

you need to splice in you trigger to ground out the nitrous on your 2-step...then when you let of the 2 step button the nitrous will function off the window switch
You sure your clutch etc. can handle this before you do it? just think about it hard before you leap
I got the stuff in my sig.... i think it can handle it...
a mcloed street twin clutch
denny's nitrous ready driveshaft
moser 9" rear end w/ a detroit locker and 31 spline axles and 3.7 gear ratio
and a set of m/t et drags 26x10.5x15 on draglites
thats a quick run down of what I have... the only thing I'm weary on is the output shaft on the tranny... that's supposed to be the weak link on the tranny with the street twin...
I'm debating whether or not I want to do this... I really want to... but i really don't... it's an 1/8 track... so I could use all the spray time I can get...
I'll post a video with times when/if it happens.

If it was my car...I wouldn't....I would either do a delay of like .7 or one of the 1st gear lock out set-ups. No sense in tearing up the trans just to do it...and it won't take long.
What do you 60' now....
a 26" tire is easy to turn over....28" makes a big diff. esp. when trying to spray out of the hole.
I would try to bring on your nitrous smoothly just so it last you....I don't want to read about you blowing parts all over the track week after week......

my window switch has an option of a first gear lock out... I might try it. I saw a few guys over on ls1tech spraying out of the hole with a hotcam and 125 shot and they were running low 11's.
I have no clue what my 60' is... my track is horrible... they only give out ets/trap/reaction. and they just display it, they don't print it out.
I'd like to run a 28" tire, but I dont think I have enough gear for it... shouldn't I have atleast a 4.11 gear ratio if I start messing with tires that big?

wow, no slips or 60ft??? i hope you dont pay to race there, we had a "strip" back in Arkansas that was the fairgrounds parking lot, and even they passed out slips
you could do 370 gears and a 28" tire, if you're spraying out of the hole. maybe just bump the 2 step up another 500 rpms or so to help with the bog.

LOL it's a horrible track... $10 for unlimited runs, it's not prepped well (i spun my 275 m/t drag radials dumping the clutch at 3K on my near stock motor, it's only an 1/8. But it's only 3 miles away from where I live...
They give slips if you bracket race, but I suck at bracket racing, I would get eliminated in first couple of rounds.
