question about cams

what would be a good cam for running 200-250 shot nitrous? i have a crower roller .621 in .625 ex with 107* lobe seperation. i know running a blower you need like 112-114 ls but is it different from nitrous? and do you want more duration on the ex side or the in side? or does it reall effect it that much?

thanks , Dave

You'll want high LSA. 110 - 114 is N/A. Blowers & N2O typically go from 114 - 116. Will this be for street and strip or strip only?

You'll want high LSA with a good DCR for your set up. With .621 / .625 you've done some work to your heads. What is your cc? What is your DCR now?

the car is mostly for strip but i drive it sometimes on the weekends.
ive got a 355 w/ brodix aluminum heads with 62 cc, arias forged pistons (domed) 14.6:1 cr. super victor intake and a dominator carb. and you know the cam 107* .621/.625 roller 316/318 duration, thats with 1.5 rr i have 1.6's

so would haveing that low of a lsa it wouldn't hurt my power too much would it? i would rather have more power on the motor then by buying a new nitrous cam that kills n/a power but is better for running nitrous ya know?? i don't want to spend the money filling the bottle every night if i bracket raced on the juice. so it would just be for heads up nights and for a little bit of street use.

so pretty much i'm asking am i going to lose power by having the cam i do? say i spray 200 hp but am i really going to make maybe 180 hp difference because its not nitrous cam?

your probably really confused about what i'm trying to say, sorry

You will lose a little for the lack of LSA... but your motor sounds built. I'd personally keep the cam and up the jets another 25 hp. It can handle it and you'll still be in your 200 HP sweet spot. You'll blow some away through the exhaust for the low LSA but with N2O it is easy to add additional amounts to compensate.
