The quest for 10.99 on stock longblock may be over....

Went to the track last night to get some n/a runs in with some decent air,and the car LOST over 1/2 second and 4.5 mph. Did it twice.
no misfires,no nothing,just wasnt pulling.
I'm thinking it is valve springs that are tired, and if that is the case,i wont be changing the springs on this head for the simple fact i only have planned 1 more race for the year.
Someone thinks it might be the coil, which i will swap this weekend, and i will be checking spring pressures on monday. Main reason im not gonna swap springs is becuase of head/cam swap planned for the winter.

Just dont know how BADLY i wanted to hit this with a 175 and possibly a 200 shot to get there.

Friggen sucks

Awww, see how you are! Wimp out just when it comes time for judgement. LOL.

I hear ya there Dirk. It all boils down to logistics sometimes, and weather its worth doing something when you're going to changing/doing it again in the near future.

Exclamation

Personally, I say if you want to hit that goal, then just swap the springs if they are bad.

Think of it this way......a set of stock springs won't set you back that much. The few couple hours it will take to swap them on, well, it is only a couple of hours.

Fix that, take her back to the track, then spray that bigger shot on her. See if you can get that 10 second slip; would be very impressive.

I have actually exceeded all the goals for my current setup. 10.99 would of been a neat perk, but not something i was dying to get.
I am extremely happy to be 1 of the fastest stock long block cars around.
This combo has served me well, but time for bigger and better things.
The stock springs would be cheap, but just not worth the hassle seeing how i will be doing it again in a month or so.
