Purge question...
Purge question...
I was just out and about.
I opened the bottle, turned on the system and hit the purge. I got no cloud.
I could see the nitrous for just a few inches above the outlet, then it disappeared.
It's almost 90 degrees outside, so I didn't know if that would have anything to do with it.
I could hear it, and when I sprayed the car I could feel it, but not as strong as the last time I sprayed it on a cooler day.

Re: Purge question...
When was the last time you filled your bottle? You might be running out, or you need to check your pressure also, cause even though its 90 degrees outside doesnt mean your bottle will get hot. Do you have a bottle heater?
Re: Purge question...
New question, but still purge related...
If I open the bottle, heat it to 900-950 psi. When I arm the system and purge, I get a cloud. If I wait about 5 minutes and hit the purge again, I get just air, then another cloud.
Is that normal?

If it's normal, then I'll put it out of my head. I worry that there might be a leak or something causing this though.
I doubt you lose much during a normal purge. Now if you stand on the button, sure you'll lose a lot, but it normally doesn't take much to get to the liquid in the lines.
Re: Purge question...
First, there shouldn't be any "air" in the system, unless you just swapped bottles.
What happens is that the nitrous in the lines near the solenoids heats up from the engine heat, and changes from liquid phase to vapor (gasseous) phase. When you open the purge, the vapor phase nitrous blows out. Since its already in vapor form, it isn't visible. When the vapor clears (the reason you are purging), liquid nitrous hits the purge solenoid, and when it enters the tube and then the atmosphere, it changes from a liquid to gas by absorbing heat from the air. It also absorbs heat from any water vapor in the air (aka "humidity") and creates a visible plume as the water vapor in the air condenses.
Short answer - yes, it is normal to not see the plume at first, if your solenoids or the main line are located where they are subject to heat soak from the engine.

Re: Purge question...
Funny thing is, I've never used a visible purge location, until about a month ago....

What do you think is the best spot for a "non-visible" purge?
