Purge Line?

What are you all using for purge lines? I have the 6 in piece they gave me with the purge solenoid, but doubt that will reach up to the cowl. Anyone have a close up pic of how you have it run up to the cowl, just want it to spray straight up the windshield.

By the way do you need to flare the tubing or somehting, it's just a straight tube, and has no way to seal, I can't believe they send it to you with no flare on it. I am confused.

Re: Purge Line?

There is a compression fitting in the box with it. Thats how it works.

You do know how a compression fitting works right

Re: Purge Line?

I just used standard 1/8" copper line available from Home Depot in the plumbing department. It's cheap, comes on a roll in various diameters and you can bend it easily and paint to whatever you like. They sell the fittings as well; they're compression as pointed out above. It's not like it has to seal to hold the pressure anyway, one end is vented wide open. Trust me, it IS going to come out there! LOL

I used the copper line, too.
I drilled a hole through the trough beside the wipers.
Then I wrapped that black "hose" around it.
You can't see it

I have a -3AN SS braided hose attached to the output of the purge valve; this allows the engine to move and not stress a hard line. The braided line terminates into a T fitting that mounted to the underside of the cowl. From there I have 2 copper lines that give me a duel purge.

Re: Purge Line?

Since it has a compression fitting i just used brake line. It comes in 3 foot long pieces at advance auto or anywhere for $3.00 and it already has one flared end and i just cut the length i needed and bent it where i needed and never had any problems--i installed a "T" fitting and made it into a dual purge--really looked cool on the lt-1

Re: Purge Line?

I second the brake line. I took a brake line bender a stick of brake line and run it out where the 2 wiper arm covers meet under the windshield. Theres a lil snap clip i removed and run the line out it.
