Problem with Harlan window switch

When I depress the #1 push button it takes about 10 tries to be able to change the setting. I depress the button and wait for the light. Normally I'll hold the button down for ~5 seconds and just let go (no light flash). However, every time I hold the button down or just tap it, the LED flashes the current program setting. Same goes for the #2 button.

This tells me the button is working, but for some reason it seems like its not working correctly - Its not resetting the rpm limit after two seconds. I have a Harlan shift light and can change the settings just like the directions state.

Anyone else have this problem? Makes me a little nervous about using this switch, although it seems like once its set its fine.

Could this be from a bad tach wire connection? I double checked it and it seems secure, but...
