NX wiring.
NX wiring.
Ummm.....I tried fallowing the instructions on this page HERE but it appears to be misleading (diagram says 40 amp relay) and it doesn't include the Genx-2 kit. I also see alot of diagrams using more than one 30 amp relay, and inline fuses. I don't really know what goes where., and I thought that everything I needed was in the kit. I am having more trouble with this than my LT install (j/k). Anyone want to help me wire up my NX kit?
First of all, you need to tell us what you're running along with the kit, i.e. Window switch, FPSS, etc. If you're not running any safety accessories, Pin 30 goes to inline fuse and battery, 87 to the 2 hot wires of the soelonoids (other 2 wires are grounded), 86 to arm switch and WOT switch and 85 ground. I also believe that 85 and 86 are interchangeable.
I have the FPSS, WOT switch, Mallory hyfire 685 ignition module (built in window switch), NX purge noid, bottle warmer, remote bottle opener, plus the fuel and nitrous noids. All of which I don't really know how to hook up. I have 2 6 amp relays that came with the kit.
quote from mtxpert:
Relay 1 (arming relay) Run a ground through the fuel pressure safety switch
to the ground side of the (85) arming relay. Positive side (86) goes through
your arming switch - I took positive from the defroster activation button.
30 goes to ground, 87 goes to 30 and 86 on relay 2.
Relay 2 (WOT relay). Take the output from 87 on relay 1 to 86 and 30 on
relay 2. Your WOT switch should be + (should use ATPSS if possible) and take
that to 85. 30 goes to 12V + batt and 87 goes to 85 on relay 3.
Relay 3 (Windows switch relay). Take output from Relay 2 on 87 to 85 on
relay 3. 86 goes to grounded output from Mallory purple (window switch). 30
goes to 12V Batt +. 87 goes to nitrous solenoid + AND yellow (timing retard
input) on Mallory box.
You can not hook the ground from the window switch to the atpss for some
reason on relay 2. I couldn't get mine to work so that's why the 3rd relay.
Also by not allowing them to have + or - until arming relay is activated it
stops unnecessary relay clicking while driving from the window/WOT relays.
By having the ground on the main arming relay go through the FPSS it turns
off the entire system if no fuel pressure.

Hopefully this information will help anyone with the install of a Mallory 685, and aid in the install process of nitrous. Good Luck!

Also, do I need a wiring harness? I order this kit a while ago, and I have an MSD wiring harness. I don't know if thats right. I have no idea what I am doing. I have a feeling this isn't going in this summer.
Allright....would any of you trust a speed shop to wire this up? I have everything else hooked up cept the wires. I havn't been able to drive my car more than 1000 miles yet this summer, and I just wanna drive. Unless anyone can help me.
