I just scored an NOS sniper kit on ebay. I plan on tinkering with it a bit, does anyone know why they limit this kit at 150 horsepower? I plan on changing solenoids since they are used, is there something about this bottle that limits the kit?

It's probably the solenoids. Buy Cheater solenoids they are good to 250.

 

The sniper kit uses the same plate as the the super powershot and cheater kits, just not anodized. The solenoids are superpower shot solenoids. (the older sniper kits had brass bases, the newer ones are stainless) The valve is really only able to handle about 175, which is also where the solenoids stop. If you switched to cheater solenoids and and a hi flow style valve you could go up to 250hp
