Nitrous newbie. Richard Krause Please Help

I am on my way to adding a 100 shot of nitrous to my car... Yesterday I raced a 10.4@135mph rx7 turbo II and beat him till 150 mph by 2 cars... And I know that he will come with something else or better tunning or something... Now.. I want to be ready for the next time we race... This is mainly a shot for 4th and 5th gears.. I have 4.11s. I want to be ready if he comes with something else for the next time... As you know.. in the end "there can be only one"

I have 600rwhp more or less on my car... tuned for pump gas...

is a 100 shot feasable on pump gas??? or will I need better gas

Any computer controlled kits out there???

Let me know

Thanks

im not Rich, but i can offer some insight.
No computer controlled kit on the market is any good, unless it's a DFI style with dry nitrous capability.

I would definately recommend more octane with boost and bottle, but Rich has more experiance here.

I was thinking on going to a T-trim.. and running more boost...

but the idea of nitrous was nice

I like the VCN-2000 as it simply adds pulsewidth to the injectors and it is fully programmable!!!

I am nowhere near maxing my injectors out so its a good dry system... I tune my car to see 900mv on my O2s and when gone to the dyno i've had good AFR ratio with them... (12.5s and nearly flat) One can always tune on the dyno and see where it goes...

Either I go with a T-trim and 4-5 psi more boost or... I go with the nitrous... I just want to see what people think...

After talking to Venom tech morons,i'll never use that system. It tries to manipulate the 02 sensor readins to get more fuel in,no thanks,i dont trust stock o2's as it is.

I would recommend a wet system, for the sole reason of Tuning it.
Much easier to fatten it up with a wet system for your style application.

I am not a nitrous "guru". However, I am one the few people I know of running a centrifugal plus N2O. The best and easiest way to do this is a wet system. For a 100-150hp shot you don't need any fancy controller, but you should not do this on pump gas. I use 100 octane unleaded when running the nitrous and I always run a very cold plug. I am using an NGK "11", ~6 heat ranges colder than a stock plug. The plugs have center electrode that is nearly retracted, but I have never had a fouling problem even though my ignition is nothing fancy - Cane box with Accel coil, OEM wires.

You need to be sure you enouh fuel if you try this. It's a lot cheaper than new blower though. This year, with more boost (18 v. 14psi) I am going to run 104 unleaded at the track.

Im going to wait till I can find a used T-trim and sell mine...

That should be cheaper.. its not that easy to always fill up 104 octane when running the nitrous... and I can understand why you need the octane, since you want the timing to help with the shot..

But... I see its not that easy to do so... But we'll see... THANKS!!!!

Use a single NX nozzle, jetable to 150 hp easy.
Move your battery to the trunk, and mount a 1 to 2 gal cell in that spot, full of 108 purple. A seperate pump and regulator just for the spray.. easy yeeeha!
With a 100 shot on a blower, you will probably see around 120 hp with the cooling effect... and you WILL notice it! Just keep the hood closed!

You bet I always keep the hood closed

But anyways... I hope to change from an S-trim to a T-trim to see if I can see 4 psi more which would be around 80rwhp that would be more or less the shot I am planning on adding and a bit safer.

80hp is optimistic going from S to T-trim.

You think so??? I thought it was very likely since the S-trim is rated at 680 and T-trim is at 825?
