Nitrous cams, a brief tutorial

I will be talking with a couple people about cams, to see what each recommends. This motor will see the 250 direct port often I just hope it holds together till the end of the year. Then I will really push it. But then there is the LT1 shoot out in April. I just don't know if I want to push it that early in the year.

So, what did you decide about a cam?

Well the cam is bigger then I originally wanted. I will be using all of the 2.100 intalled valve height the heads have to offer. I will have an extra 12* duration on the exhaust, 112 lca with 4* advance.

I never got back ahold of you and just saw this thread again. The cam had a 12* split and picked up a second on a .063 jet. I've only giving it a .075 jet need to add a little timing to it but it's been 9.4 @ 140.

Yeah, the extra exhaust duration (and the resultant earlier opening and increased "area under the curve") DOES make a difference. Like a blower cam but with a narrower LSA.
