nitrous 100 shot-not overly impressed

ok, put on an edlebrock nitrous system with a NOS fogger and tried it out with the 100 hp jets. I was actually dissapointed, didnt know really what to expect, but it didnt seem to impressive. I admit, i was scared as hell to activate it, turned it on at around 70 is and didnt feel that immeadiate 'rush'. went home and checked by test firing the fogger and got good gas/nitrous shot out, so I know its working-what is it suppossed to feel like? any feedback??

If it was cold out when you tried it and your bottle temp wasnt up then it probably wouldnt feel too impressive.

Yeah-it was real frikin cold!! (25 degrees) I noticed that the pressure gauge on the bottle was way below where it should have been.... Does bottle pressure play that significant of a role? Guess im needing a warmer!

I'm no nitrous expert, but I think I recall reading that bottle pressure needs to be 900 PSI.

Time for that bottle warmer.

If the nitrous pressure isnt up then your car most likely went extremely rich when you applied the nitrous.

The nitrous "jet" is an orifice.... flow through the jet is proportional to the square root of the pressure. Pressure is directly related to temperature.

83degF gives you 900psi bottle prssure. Drop the temperature to 25degF, and bottle pressure drops to about 400psi. Your nitrous flow was reduced by 1/3, so you sprayed a 67HP shot. The fact that it was pig rich because of the extra fuel cost you additional HP. Probably wouldn't feel like much.

it's not going to be too impressive at 70 ish MPH even with 900 psi bottle pressure.

Get your bottle pressure up ( if you don't have a heater bring it inside the house over night) then try it again at like 30 ish MPH.

Yeah, like the last one said, you'll notice much more of a difference from say a 2nd gear pull, rather than on the highway.
