N2O questions

Alright fellas...I have all mods in my sig and I just bought a Dynotune Nitrous kit. I am getting all necessary safety equipment to go w/ the nitrous kit but that still leaves me thinking. I am putting in the new Walbro 255 pump soon, but I have stock injectors and TB. This is a wet kit however I am wondering if these stock injectors will suffice w/a small shot...like 75-100. If I will need new injectors what size should I get? There is another part to this story though: I will need to buy the appropriate injectors that will also work with future mods. I am getting a custom cam by Bret Bauer and LE3 heads this fall.

If I get all appropriate safety items and whatnot along w/a timing retard, etc, etc..will I be safe running a 150 shot on my stock bottom ended cammed shortblock? I won't even consider it if its not wise. I know it won't last forever and I plan on freshening up the bottom end when I do the H/C but will it last til then?

Re: N2O questions

A wet kit adds fuel through the "nitrous" nozzle plumbed into your intake tubing (2 lines feed the nozzle, one nitrous, one fuel), not via the injectors. Therefore no change in injector size required. A wet system puts a bigger demand on your fuel pump as it's feeding both the injectors and the nitrous nozzle. Therefore you may need to install the Walbro to feed the system.

I know thats how a wet kit provides the fuel. I guess i am just looking for reassurance basically. Now that I bought the kit everyone is saying that I will blow my engine, or something won't work, etc, etc. just got me worrying I guess.

Re: N2O questions

Any serious power adders (large nitrous shot, blowers, turbos) are going to put stress on the stock pistons. A good dyno tune using a wideband O2 sensor gives you the best odds that your engine will hold together for a while. I don't think anyone can accurate predict how long if will hold up. Your drivetrain (tranny, rear, driveshaft) may fail before your motor if you launch on sticky tires.

Yeah, thats the next thing I as worried about is my rear. It doesn't feel to hot, but then again I have never ridden in a 7.5" 10 bolt that I wasn't afraid it was gonna break. I am getting a mail order tune for now, and I will retard the timing for even a 100 shot. Hopefully it will last. I am gonna hit a dyno just to check numbers and make sure the A/F ratio is good and whatnot as well.

I have a list of stuff to get...I'll write it down and maybe you guys could tell me if I am missing something? Here it is:
Purge kit, bottle heater, FPSS, Fuel pressure gauge, N2O pressure gauge, Pressure release fitting, blow down tube, Remote bottle opener, Mallory 685.
