N/A + N2O Fuel Setup???
N/A + N2O Fuel Setup???
I'm going to be running a gen1 SBC with a carb in a 94 Z28 and I need some help designing the fuel system. First let me say that I plan on making ~500hp N/A and ~700hp with a dual stage N2O system (these numbers are at the crank). I'm definately going to sump the tank and run stainless lines to the engine bay...so I have that much figured out. I just dont' know if I should run two mid-size pumps and have a seperate feed line for the motor and juice with a single return line, or run one bigger pump to feed both (still with a single return line). It will be less expensive to run a single pump than two, but I want to make sure that there won't be a dangerous fuel pressure drop when I hit the switches for the N2O. Here's a link to a quick diagram that I made of the two proposed fuel systems: www3.baylor.edu/~Eric_T_Evans/fuel.jpg
If I was you I would buy a one gal. Jazz fuel cell mount it up front in the engine compartment along with a dedicated nitrous fuel system. And a dedicated fuel system for the engine. The tank in the rear that is sumped would work fine for the motor as long as you have calculated the correct amount of fuel you need which with those numbers in mind will dictate what pump you have to purchase.
I run the Magnaflow pumps. I run a Quick Star 300 for the nitrous and the motor uses there 600 FI pump. Nitrous has a one gal cell it pulls from in front and the engines pulls from a cell in the rear of the car. My setup is FI which for this reason I run a seperate pump for the nitrous system. One runs psi in the range of 43 psi plus where the nitrous system runs much less.
If your worried about cost and you start to skimp out on the fuel system it will come back and get ya. Trust me when I say this!
Good Luck!
