Melting Plugs?

I have used the 150 shot several times with a stock motor,
I have since, Built a forged bottom end, I ran the 150 shot fine, for several times, I then upped to 200, sprayed a couple times, And on like the 3 rd time, I melted some plugs....2 & 4
I havent sprayed since till the other night, One I sprayed 150, And melted the # 2 plug again....
Is this a lack of fuel or too much timing?
I have the timing retarded 2-3 degrees from stock, And use 109 Unleaded race gas...
It just doesnt add up.....

Re: Melting Plugs?

Well, Heres the good part....Its a stand alone fuel system....
Im worried about losing fuel pressure in the top of the gears, I notice voltage drop on my guage cluster volt guage, And the pump is just hooked up through a switch and relay.....
Why only those cylinders though?

Thanks for the replies

Re: Melting Plugs?

What plugs are you using? Single or dual nozzle or DP?

Re: Melting Plugs?

I also use the delco plugs and have never had issues spraying a 150 shot. Sounds lean to me also. What do the unburned plugs look like color wise? Are they white, light tan or very dark or black?
