lt1 wet/dry kit
lt1 wet/dry kit
so i want to do a 50 dry shot to leave on...through the maf so i dont have to mess with the fuel presure
then i want to do a dual nozzel 100 shot to back it up...
if i ever go bigger ill just make the dry shot bigger...this is the stock bottom end so 150-175 will be max...the wet shot probabaly wont come on until 4500 so it shouldnt have a huge torque spike...
what do you guys think...anybody spraying through the maf and have issues? how do lt1 like it?

Re: lt1 wet/dry kit
dry is the easiest install and everything, but not as safe as wet. dry systems are nice, but if your maf calibration is off or it fails, you're toast. i don't like dry shots. it's plenty easy to tap into a fuel line for a wet system. this ay you always get fuel, unless your pump goes crap, which is what a fuel pressure safety switch is for. it's just safer to run a wet kit. dry kits are great in theory. the maf will read the nitrous input and add the absolute correct amount of fuel... but then again a lot of things have to happen right. also, on a dry shot you'll need bigger injectors for larger shots. something that is more costly than the cost of a wet kit.
Re: lt1 wet/dry kit
The LT1 kits generally don't spray through the MAF. They boost the fuel pressure to add the extra fuel. The LS1 dry kits do spray through the MAF, but NOS articles attributes this to the LS1 PCM being much faster than the earlier (LT1) PCM's, and capable of responding faster. There was at least one person posting here who claimed to have used "before the MAF" on an LT1 with no problems, but its been a couple years since he's been heard from.
With the LT1 dry systems that boost fuel pressure to provide the extra fuel, the FPSS offers the same protection that it offers in a wet system. I ran the NOS 5176 kit for 5 years with no problems. Currently using many of those same components to spray a dry 300-shot.

Re: lt1 wet/dry kit
well let me explain my situation...right now no matter what jets i put in im lean...so im testing tomaro and 125 fuel jet with 100 n20 jet, the bottle presure is way low about 750, so i dont know why its so lean. my fuel pressure is at 42 with the vac line on and 47 with it off...
now i was to launch on either a 50 or 75 shot and hit a 100 or so at the top of first or beginning of second...
also the 100 shot has to be a dual nozzel because of my hood clearence and i want to make sure im getting good distribution, so that means it has to be a 100 shot, 50 in each...i dont want one big 150 shot, this means i need to break it up, needs to be another stage either wet or dry, and probably a 50 shot...
so i should use a dual stage wet? or wet dry and possibly the boost in fuel pressure from dry help me get my a/f where i need it for the second stage.

Re: lt1 wet/dry kit
dual stage is for racers, generally. there is no need for you to use dual nozzles or dual stage. unless you really want to. more nozzles=more money and you have to get more jets remembering not to jet both of the nozzles for 150 shot. lol that'd be 300, obviously.
Re: lt1 wet/dry kit
oblivously...but dual stages is also easier on the motor because you can lessen the torqu spike...i can also save my 10 bolt by leaving on a small shot and then hitting it big...and i can hit the second stage at a higher rpm so its easier on the motor...
the dual nozzels is probably for my ease of mind but my nozzel right now is in one side of my intake between the maf and the t/b, i converted to a ls1 lid setup so theres not much room between the t/b and maf, this is why im doing a dual nozzel
