Leaky connection at fuel solenoid?

Has anyone had trouble with leaks at the pipe fitting on the fuel solenoid (IN side) from the standard NX kit? I've resealed it three times with teflon paste and it still leaks under pressure.

Arron (who used to own Musclecar Technologies, now out of business) said to send it to him if it kept it up and then I found out he went out of business...

I know it's not just me, because all the other fittings are leak-free. So, can anyone tell me if there is a trick to getting it to seal, or do I just have a faulty noid/fitting?

Thanks.

I had leaks when I first installed my nitrous system. After a couple tries, I gave up on the teflon paste, and switched to the tape. Just keep a thread or two clear of the end of the fitting, so you don't get a piece of tape into the solenoid. Solved all my leaks...

Thanks for the post Dave. How long have you had the tape on the threads? I am still a bit concerned about using it since NX specifically says not to... do you know why they say that?

They say it because they don't want a loose piece of tape to go floating into your solenoid, possibly blocking it from closing. The paste will just sort of push liquefy and push through, so it's a bit safer. But like you, I had trouble getting it to work. So that's why I suggested just making sure you have a thread or two of non-taped thread on the end of the fitting, make sure there isn't a loose end of tape that can get into your solenoid.

I ran my nitrous for a couple years like that, and know other folks that have done the same...

Bingo! I hate that Paste crap! Leave a couple threads clear like Dave said and lay that tape on there. you'll be leak free.

Diito the tape...just use it sparingly and keep it out of the flow path.
