Just wondering: Anybody here live in CA and spray?
Just wondering...
Who here lives in CA and runs nitrous? If you do, what are the CARB E.O. #'s and how hard is it to pass smog. I've heard horror stories about it, but would love to buy a NX kit.
What do you guys think?

NOS company is the only one with CARB#. All other brands will not pass smog. I have the NX system, I just did my smog last month and all I did was removed my bottle also the nozzle. I cover warp my lines and painted my system black to match like everything that look's like in the engine bay. The tech that did my car was more into my headers cause he couldnt find the 02's.

Interesting...
Thanks Fuels94TA.
The NOS kit you're talking about is the standard LT1 kit right? [The one that has adjustable jets from 50-150 right?]

The NOS kit with the CARB-EO certification is the 5176-EO. This kit differs from the standard 5176 kit only in having an electronic WOT switch, in essence preventing you from activating the system at part throttle, which you could (but don't want to) do with the mechanical WOT switch in the 5176 kit.
I bought my 94 Formula in CA, and installed the 5176-EO, but left CA before my first emissions check was due. I did pass and idle check emissions in NJ, and I had the CARB-EO sticker under the hood, but the inspector never checked under the hood.
I would assume that as long as you have the CARB-EO sticker on the car, and the kit is installed in accordance with the NOS manual, they can not fail you for it. And since the kit will not actually affect emissions at the part load conditions they dyno test at in CA, it should not be an issue.
