how is the scc 224/236 536/555 114 for a daily driver
I will eventually run a supercharger with this cam, but it will be some time, probably a year when I can afford a rebuild to handle the boost, so for the meantime I will be using nitrous, since its cheap. So I'm wondering how this cam will drive under normal conditions. I might need to go with lower gears, but would like to stick with my 3.42's since 3.73 might not be enough of a difference to upgrade and 4.10s are to much. anyone have experience with this cam or suggestions on gears. Any sound files so I can see how it idles
I plan on going with that cam in the near future. Have to finish the N2O install, install new clutch, buy new opti, and then i'm going to place an order with Combo Motorsports for the cam kit. Because of the design of the XE cam its supposed to hold a strong mid-range which should be good for a daily like mine.
it will drive fine.....not the most luxutious feel but hey a sports car is a sports car...with that big of a split duration how big u spraying?????
i would go with the 4.10 thatd be sweet

well I want 4.10s but if I get a blower a long time down the road I don't think they will work well with it, I'll have to ask those blower guys about that one. I want to run no more than 125, something to play with that won't kill my engine, hell if I like it enough I may not get the charger and just stick to nitrous, I really don't race people on the street so max power there isn't needed, but would be very fun. I figure I can pick up a used kit for cheap, and see how I like it, I figure at most a new kit can't be to much over 1000 bucks with all the necessary equipment. Since Cmotorsport is having a nicely priced kit, I figured I might as well go with something that will work well with spray/blower. I would think the 114 LSA will give better drivability on the street and max power for strip. Whats the most juice you can spray while still playing it safe
Great cam..Nice little lope, similar to a cc305. Powerband really kicks in at about 4500rpms. Can get a little jumpy at low speeds but you get used to it. If your planning on going with a blower id recommend staying with the 3.42s.
I like it. Its inbetween the 305 and 306 cam so its not a small cam and it is loppy too.lol I am going with 396 next week so I will be selling mine. If you are interested email me. look at my sig if theres anything else you might want to go with it. I am not sure how I am going to sell my motor(complete or part it out)but let me know if you are interested in any slightly used parts. Alan
