How long will a 5# last??

I was wondering how long will a 5# bottle last?? How long will a 10# bottle last. I am thinking if i have a hard time fitting the 10 in the spare tire compartment neatly, without modifying, that i'll just go with a 5lb. But i would like to know how long each will last.

I read somewhere a 10lb bottle will last 3 minutes on a 50 shot. You should be able to fit a 10lb bottle into the spare tire well fairly easily.

Re: How long will a 5# last??

I typically get 3 consistent 150hp passes (12 sec each, +-.1) and the 4th falls off pretty bad on a 10lb bottle.

So a 5lb bottle may last two solid passes at that level. If you are only spraying 100hp, obviously it would live longer.

I tried a 15 pounder one weekend and got 4 good passes with the 5th falling off .25sec (not that it pertains to your question).

General rule: 10sec/lb/75hp is pretty close. Of course, you can't empty the bottle completely. So, ~4 10sec. runs/10lb bottle at the 150hp level.

i have done 3 solid passes at 125 hp level, with some to spare.

although if i dial it up, i can get only one good pass, and then i have to grab a fresh bottle, lmao!!!!

You can definately fit a 10# in the spare tire well, I did with my spare tire still in there. Of course I used an older NOS brand bottle, which is longer and skinnier than most newer ones...

10 lb will fit at a slight angle in the spare compartment. I get two passes from 10 lb bottle, 5 lb would be frustrating.

What is your ET and how much N2O do you run? That sems like you must be running too high a nitrous/fuel ratio or that you are running a huge (300+hp) shot. Just curious.

I agree, on a 150 shot, you should be using about 0.15 pounds of nitrous per second. You should be getting atleast 5 runs per bottle.

So two passes is right on the estimate. ~75hp/10sec for 1lb at the 100hp level = ~4.5lbs for 11sec @ 300hp. IOW, two passes on a 10lb bottle.
