I am asking to know what to expect out of mine. Thanks.

Depends on the shot.

I've heard on a 100 shot, maybe 4 full 1/4th mile passes if you don't have a bottle warmer. 7-8 if you do.

Rule of thumb: 0.8lb/10sec/100hp Of course, the bottle doesn't empty fully, so 1lb/10sec/100hp may be a bit mire accurate.

rskrause- you always seem really on the ball whenever I read anything you say, so here's a Q of mine. I'm running an LT1 engine with 130k on the clock, an M6 tranny (yes, a lot I know) that has been babied since new, compression is good on all 8 and I'm getting solid 17mpg on all city driving and a little fun, no oil burning or blow by, and she only runs a little rich when she's cold. I am gathering parts currently for the next engine, and will finish the build and swap motors over winter break. So far she's got SLP Loudmouth and SLP's LT headers on the way, but still want some more fun to play with till she gets the LT4 packed engine. Assuming 1 range colder plugs, regapping (I never used platinums on my old Turbo GSX Eclipse and using them with giggle juice or boost is bad, so I've heard) swapping to the LT4 KM, and running a 75 shot on the street with a little timing retard will slowly kill my motor, I know it, I expect it (but with only 5000 miles left till the motor is scrap...). BUT I am new to F-body nitrous setups and fuel systems, and dont know what the stock pump can handle. I've got a convertible and dont want a huge freakin bottle in the trunk if someone hits me, so I was thinking of plumbing a pair of "sneeky pete" 10oz bottles, as they'll fit in a few good places where they'll be hidden and safe. By your rule of thumb, even with 2 10oz bottles, I'd be looking toward maybe 15 seconds with a 75 shot. Then both bottles will be empty. I rarely need it around here, most are just rice, but the few cars that mean business that I've come across dont get away fast, and the small shot would make it enough. I have the .001 accurate o2 gauge ready and a fuel pressure gauge is on the list also, but... Any more tips or advice before I really get into this?

Thanks!

Hey Geoff: thanks for the praise, but I am fairly new to N2O, so take everything I post as just another piece of information and not as an "expert" opinion!

I am not so sure you need to worry that much about the safety of a bottle in the trunk, though it is somehting to think about. BTE: mine is also a 'vert. But your idea makes sense if you really think you won't be terribly frustrated at only having 10-12 secs on the "bottle(s)" (remember, they do not empty fully).

I don't think the stock pump will be an issue with 75hp. You are on target with avoiding platinum plugs on a boosted motor. The standard recipe is two heat ranges colder, which might be a better bet given the fragility of the stock pistons. The stock ignition is pretty stout (at least at the relatively low revs of a stock setup) and should be ok with plugs in this range.

The stock pump will be fine up to a 100shot and I agree with rskrause ....you will want that 10# bottle. I only get about 2 real good 1/4 mile runs out of a 10# bottle. I can get a couple of more ok ones after that and I have a bottle heater.
