How long can you spray?? (seconds)

I was just wondering..what is the longest time you can spray for?? Is 10-12 seconds about the maximum?? Or can you go longer?? If so..how long is to long?? Can you say..hit the N2O at around 120 or so..and hold it to 150?? or is that to long? I dont have nitrous..but i've just been curious about how long you can spray it before doing damage..lets say it was a TNT wet 100 shot..on a pretty close to stock LS1.

if the kit is installed right, your gonna run out of juice in the bottle before you do any real damage i would think.

my instructions say don't spray for more than 20 seconds or you'll burn the solenoids.

if you HAVE to spray for more than 20 seconds, you've lost the race, give up.

i think if you sprayed that long you would be hitting your rev limit anyhow.....hmmm, how fast would you be going if you hit your rev limit in 6th gear??? lol

anybody ever sprayed in 6th?

^^ Thats exactly what i'm asking..can you do top-speed runs with the nitrous? Say 0-150?? or is that wayyyy to long to be spraying the nitrous??

You'll blow the motor trying a top speed run. The load on the engine is so severe in top gear that it will detonate like hell.

If you really want a new engine. Spray away. If you dont want a new engine. Limit the duration of your spray. I personally would not be trying to break land speed records with nitrous. Just my two cents.

What if you just take the car to its top speed N/A and then once it wont go any faster...spray it?

Then you'll hear your pistons and rods shoot through the oil pan and bounce off the underside of the car.

if the engine is already peaked out n/a,why would nitrous make it any faster? nitrous helps the car accelerate faster,it doesnt increase the rpm,or top speed. you are more then welcome to try it,but be ready for some extensive repairs when the cylinder pressures go nuts and break LOTS of parts.

Why would nitrous make it faster?? Because, nitrous adds HP and HP is what is required to go faster. Top speed is directly related to HP and aerodynamics. Also, it wouldn't be in top gear, I'm sure it would be in 5th or something.

I am not going to try it, I was just saying what if? I dont really plan on maxing out my car N/A as far as top speed goes...just curious. It made sense to me.

hp is rpm limited. not to mention 6th isnt an accelration gear, and the cylinder pressures would be very high.

if you are at top speed in 5th,you are already way past the hp peak, and already running a lot of cylinder pressure.

it looks easy on paper, but reality is a whole nother ballgame.
