Post Here's what I have, what else to retard?

I have a MSD 6A ignition box. I always thought there was a modual of some sort that could control timming? What do I need to retard timming?

James, Do you have a way of logging runs? I log 0* ignition retard off the juice and upwards of 10 degrees on the juice. The PCM retards the timing all on it's own on my car. Try logging runs w/o and on the bottle to see what is going on. You may not need to buy any retard device.

I'm a 11:1 forged motor that is fresh. I don't want to take the chance. If a modual or something is ~$80 or so, then it is worth the insurance to me. I need this motor to last somewhat of a long time.

MSD adjustable timing retard is ~$100 from Summit Racing. It hooks up to your MSD ignition. Retard 0-15 degrees by turning a ****.

part number 8982 from summit is what i use...works with all 6 series msd ignitions..it is a single stage setup, it ties into the nitrous circuit, when it see 12 volts on the circuit it pulls timing...it has plug modules varying from 0 degrees and up...im using a 4 degree pill with my 150 shot... for safety sake i should be using a 6 degree pill , but on my scanner the 4 degree pill seems to be doing the job....

DO NOT let the OEM computer handle the timing control on nitrous... this is a disaster waiting to happen...0 knock is what you want to see even on the juice....

I know not to let the cpu handle the timming job. I want to be safe and effective on this one. Anyone use summit part number msd-8680?
