GM PM Rods

Well I will post it here, I didnt get a lot of replies in advanced tech. What kind of hell are some of you putting your GM PM rods through? Motor will be:

377 (std bore 383)
11.3:1 compression
Dart 215cc Aluminum Pro 1 heads
Solid Flat Tappet Cam: 259/269@.050, 291/300ADV, .599/.620 lift

I am on a budget, bottom end will be:
Probe Forged Pistons, GM PM Rods, Scat 9000 3.75 stroke crank

What kind of abuse have you guys put PM rods through? I was hoping to run a 150 shot on this motor as well.

(On a side note, I don't plan on shifting this motor much past 6500 rpm)

Thanks guys.

Re: GM PM Rods

I built a similar 383 about 5 years ago. Wiseco forged pistons, Scat crank, ported LT1 heads, a little less compression.
I polished the beams on the rods and added some good ARP style bolts.
The guy has been spraying a 2-stage 250 to 300 shot, on pump gas. Now it has a Vortech blower on it at 13 psi. He hasn't had any problems out of it. He tries to limit the rpm to 6500, but it has squeaked over once or twice..
The PM rods are supposed to be stronger than the "pink" rods, and those used to be the hot ticket for stock rods.
Just make sure and get it balanced.

Re: GM PM Rods

The PM rods in the HT383 were tested to 550hp and 7,500 rpm. they don't use nuts (blind threaded hole).

Well... he'll admit to a 10.80 on the stock tranny and rear end, with some small ET streets...
