fuel usage per run

i want to buy a seperate fuel cell to keep some race fuel in for my nx kit.

i'm not sure how big of one to get, the kit goes up to 300hp, i think somewhere i read that you use .8lb/100 shot/10 sec spraying time.

so if i'm spraying lets say a 200 shot probably 1.5lbs/run
i'd probably see what 5 runs on a 10lbs bottle?

so how much gas do i need for 5 runs pulling a 200 shot????
anybody got a clue?

The stoichiometric nitrous/fuel ratio is ~9.5:1. But it probalby should be run pretty rich, somewhere in the range of 15-25% rich is the number I am familiar with. This would mean ~1lb of fuel/7lbs of nitros, or maybe even richer.

well, given 1 gallon of water is roughly 8lbs, i suspect gas maybe slightly light but pretty close...
so what, an 1/8 gallon or so?
so something that holds a quarter of a gallon should be pretty good for 5 runs....hmm

Gasoline is ~6lbs/gallon. So, since you need a bit less than 2lbs of gas to burn with 10lbs of nitrous, you would less than 1/2 gallon. Of course, keep in mind that the octane you will see is determined by the proportion of high and low octane fuel in the final mixture. I never understood the separate N2O fuel system. I drain my tank and use race gas in the tank when running N2O.

Re: fuel usage per run

mainly for street use, can't afford to roll around with 104+ in the tank at all times, so keep the nitro tank full of the good stuff and 94 in the main tank. it's either that, or use a large fuel cell and a divertor valve with an inline pump... but i really don't have room for a large fuel cell..
