direct port setup
That makes sense about the rails. I just wanted to use them because the installs with rails look cleaner. If it could cause problems I will stay with distribution blocks.
Most of the direct port Lt1 manifolds I have seen have quite a bit of welding done on them. Is this required or is there any set up that I can get away with just drilling and tapping the manifold?

The delay seems to come from the fuel side of the rail... the N2O rail fills up quickly which creates a quick lean. Can you stagger the N2O solenoid back with 3' of line to balance the shot?
The idea of adding material seems to be to not impede airflow in the intake... so only the "tip" of the nozzle is showing, not the stem. Can someone shed info on this?

You could make the nitrous line alittle longer but that is not the only problem. The rail has to actually pressureize. The larger the internal area the more fuel volume you need to actually fill it. And once it does pressureize not all nozzles get fuel at the same time. They start to distribute from the back of the bar foward. So the back cylinders get everything before the first ones get any. If you absolutley had to have rails you would want to bring the nitrous and fuel in right in the middle of the bar so it could fill more evenly.
You can plumb a LT1 OR LT4 intake without any welding what so ever. As a matter of fact there are a few guys around that have plumbed there intake without any modifications or welding. If I'm not mistaken Tanner uses a direct port NOS Fogger kit using the fogger 2 nozzles. He has a very clean and well plumbed intake.
There is a small bevaled spot on a LT1 intake runner just below the injector, this is where people are drill and taping to install the nozzle.
I have a picture of a LT1 intake that uses a direct port NOS kit that did not require and welding or modifacations to be done to the intake. If you would me to e-mail the photo to ya shot me a e-mail to jim.winn@irwinmortgage.com and I will send to ya.
