Cam to use with nitrous??

Just what the question says. What would be a decent cam that works well with a nitous shot?

I'll move this to the Nitrous forum.

tryintogofast, if you don't get the response there you are looking for, repost here and say you already tried the Nitrous forum so that way I won't move it again

Good luck!

They have a nice 218/230 nitrous cam listed here about half way down. This should have good idle with stock heads.

How much you gonna hit it with? I say if your not gonna spray more than 200hp don't sweat it. You don't really say what your combination is but most street cars don't need to worry about it. Most NA cams are at least on a 110lsa for these cars which can be sprayed on all day long......if it don't pic up as much on the gas as joe blows on the n20 then just pill it up alittle more. JMHO.

For the amounts of N2O most people are using, cam choice really isn't too different from a good NA cam. Mostly what you are looking for is a bit more exhaust duration. For huge nitrous hsots, that's another thing altogether.

I run a 234/240@050 with 576/596 with 1.6 and 114 LSA in my 396.
I will get some dyno info once it's broken in NA and on the juice next week.

mtxexpert - that is a mean cam! What are the cam timing specs? Also, could you include the Advertised Duration? Who makes that cam?

Thanks.

Here's the specs I have:
.050 duration - 234/240
Intake Center.ine 109.8
Exhaust Centerline: 118.2
114.0 LSA - 9.1 Overlap
With LT4 stock head flow #'s (mine are medium ported LT1 castings) on desktop dyno it shows 535HP @ 5500RPM and 549TQ @ 4500 RPM

We'll find out soon enough real world #'s though.

I'll see if I can find my cam card....
