bumped up timing = no n20?

I have been contemplating the NX Kit for LT1's (part # 20920) for about 780$. I remember reading some where that if you have your timing turned up your not suppose to run n2o. I have my PCM programmed by Bryan at PCMFORLESS.com and he gave me the works (93+ power programming, shift points, etc)

If I do buy this kit, i just want to make sure it will work and not f*** something up. (see sig for mod list)

Also my engine has about 120,000 miles on it, is the NX wet kit still safe on my daily driver high milage T/A?

get a digital ignition that will allow you to pull some timing when the system is armed. as long as your car runs fine and has no knock, you can spray all day long.

That’s what I do. I use CraneCams Hi-6R with TRC-2. This allows me to advance the timing until I hit the N20. The TRC-2 then retards my timing. This avoids detonation

Like said above, just get a ignition box and pull timing.
Not everyone always pulls timing when running the spray, but it is a smart thing to do. Also dont run platinum plugs, and start off small and work your way up.

I just bought one off ebay for $50. It hooks to the MSD 6 or 7 series. I also have my PCM programmed and have done a lot of research on this. All you need is the timing controller. MSD and Crane both offer tons of options. I am not real happy with Crane's quality though especially when it can damage my internals. I have had several Crane ignition systems go south in the past.

If your timing is bumped with the programming DO NOT run nitrous without the timing controler. At least that is when I have read and heard from everywhere and everyone. I have yet to install my system but have done a lot of research, Dont take that chance.

Good Luck

Platinum tipped plugs wont have platinum on them after the first time you spray. The heat/cylinder pressure removes the platinum and creats a HUGE plug gap.

CraneCams Hi-6R

I just had to jump in and say that I have had a couple of CraneCams ignitions - 1st one new 2nd one used both used for a couple of years, and I haven't had a single problem. I've used these systems with both n20 and a blower. As far as quality goes, I think that they are built to last.

Now with that being said I'm not saying that an MSD is better or inferior, just that I'm happy with mine.
