Anyone running Large Amounts of Nitrous???
Anyone running Large Amounts of Nitrous???
I'm about to run a gemini quad dual stage in my Camaro, at a total of about 300 shot.... How many people are runnin shots this large?? I'm just lookin for some safety tips, and suggestions...
My motor is a 383 4bolt, 10:1, JE Nitrous Pistons, JE HNS rings, 4340 rods, 4340 crank, with a Comp Nitrous HP cam, so it's built to run nitrous.... It's in a 76 Camaro...Thanks.

I use one. Some people have reported problems with them though.

If you run a 75 shot, why does your signature list a 150 shot?
Thanks for the props....
So If I follow NX's guidelines, stay with the jet numbers that they are recommending (ususally on the rich side) and rule out the fact that it might go lean, where is my weak part here??? The pistons are supposed to handle 500+ shot (custom extreme duty 10:1 inverted domes), The rods are 4340 I beams, The crank is 4340 Scat, The rings are the new JE HNS (hardened nitrous series) rings, It's a new style (87-95) high nickel 4 bolt one piece rear main block, with studded mains.... If this motor sees close to 800 hp with nitrous, what should I be worried about breaking???? I'll be using dedicated nitrous fuel system with 1 gallon Jaz fuel cell, Fuel pressure safety Switch, WOT switch, and all of the good stuff.. The thing that I might not run is the window switch.... I will be shooting 150 off the line, and bringing in another 150....

Assuming the pistons are as good as you say they are, I'd look at the rods next. I run 5.85" Oliver billet rods, based on some distortion we found in the Oliver forged rods on a friends 800HP blown 383.
I'm spraying 300 (flywheel), for a total of about 800 flywheel, on an LT1 block, Pro-Gram splayed 4-bolt, Callies Stealth 4340 crank, the Oliver Billets, BME nitrous pistons, 10.8:1 CR, a relatively mild CC 230/242 114LSA solid roller.
Its a dry system, controlled with a MoTeC M48Pro engine management system, with all the basics - fuel enrichment, timing retard, window and WOT switches programmed into the system. I don't run a fuel pressure safety switch.

Make sure you run the best fuel possible and sneak up on the high HP level. Start around 200hp and then read your plugs. Of course you need cold plugs, Proper fuel flow within the system and the proper jetting. Be conservative with the timing. I would go somewhere around 25 degrees and see what things look like.
Good luck

BTW you parts list looks really good
