Another window switch question
Another window switch question
Hey,
Ive been having a great time using my nitrous over the past month or maybe two, but today I was racing a T/A and I realized that my nitrous was spraying below the 3000 rpm starting point. I just installed a 6AL this weekend, and I followed the wiring diagrams that I got from my last thread exactly. My question is, if the window switch isnt getting a tach signal will it let the nitrous spray at any time? Im curious if my connection on the tach signal from the 6AL is good. So anyone know if the window switch will allow the nitrous to activate if it isnt receiving a tach signal? thanks for any help guys.

Update: Ok this weekend Ive been checking wiring, etc, and all of my wiring work is good. I moved the tach signal wire for the window switch from the 6AL output back to directly on the coil where I had it.. Window still opens before the 3000 rpm opening point. Anyone know anything else I may want to try? Would the 6AL cause it not to read the correct rpm?? Im at a loss about what to do with this, anyone have any tips/suggestions about what to check?
Are you running the power to the window switch through a relay? It needs one, and the only time I've seen one "die" is when the power was 12V directly in to it. Have you checked with MSD or whoever makes the window switch as to what it does when it doesn't get a tach signal?
Just some thoughts...

(1) This might sound stupid, but, what MSD rpm chip are you using?
(2) Make sure you are using the MSD window switch
to GROUND your nitrous relay.
(3)Check your relay...could be defective.
(4)Double check all wiring.
