advantages of race gas on the juice?

hey i just purchased a nitrous works 75-175 wet shot system and am tryin to be as safe as possible with it. if i go to the track and run race gas, am i goin to hurt my motor? someone told me one time that race gas tends to 'clog injectors.' is high octane gas leaded only? im plannin on squeezing a 100 shot on the streets and when i take it to the track, put it on race gas (im guessing 103 octane?) and a little less timing and goin to a 150 shot. i just saw that there is a spark plug thread so im gonna read that because id like to go ahead and take all the precautionary steps to... well... not f** s*** up. know what i mean?

You can spray a 150 shot on pump gas. But if you want to be safer, and run some higher octaine fuel. Go with 100 octaine unleaded (don't run leaded race gas). Higher octain fuels help to prevent detonation. But they have a slower burn rate. So unless you need more octaine, you could actually run slower. But if you are getting knock retard, higher octain fuel can help to elimate it and then you would pick up HP.
So some sort of scantool is nice to determine wheather or not you need race gas.

I run the 150 wet shot, run 93 octane.
I have an in-tank 255 lph fuel pump.
Stock ignition with MSD 8.5mm wires.
Autolite 104's gapped at .039
I don't spray in first.
I can't spray in second without the nitto drags nice and hot. Just spins when the nitrous is flowing.

I'm under the impression/what I go by is the more octane your using while sprayin. The less chance that detonation will occur. As for the 150 shot. I was told you don't do it with out running an aftermarket Hi-Flow pump. I'm running the standard 100 shot. On race gas 100 octane.

I usually mix in about 2 1/2 gallons of C-12 into 1/2 tank of premium unleaded. I have never had detonation at WOT on a 200 shot.

Like the others said - run a couple of gallons of 100 unleaded mixed with your normal pump gas. Run just enough to stay away from KR and remain detonation free. Any more than that will just be wasting money and slowing your burn rate...
