5176 NOS regulator question...

So is the top portion of the regulator in the 5176 NOS kit supposed to be screwed completly tight (all the way clockwise) and whats the purpose of the top section? Is it un-screwable for rebuilding purposes? Thanks in advance.

The top just gets screwed down tight. The reason it comes apart is becuase the same body is used for a few diffrent things. Mainly Co2 regulators for air shifters which are usually around 150psi. Plus on the Mustang when you go over 100hp there is a .030" shim that goes in there to raise the out let pressure from 50psi to around 65psi.

Thanks...

Thanks Snow. Do you need the shim when shooting over 100hp on the LT1 kits? Thanks again.
