150 Shot!!!

I want to run a 150 shot on my stock motor I am not sure if I should get a wet or Dry kit. Is this amount of nitrous going to make my engine all stressed out or will it last a long time on it? What type of setup would you suggest such as what plugs? a particular system over another?

Re: 150 Shot!!!

At that power level I would look at a wet setup. You could do a dry, but you will have to buy large enough injectors to support that size shot. If you use the proper safety equiptment (FPSS, window switch, I would upgrade the fuel pump) and get a good tune (pull timing, keep it a bit rich) a shot that big can last. The NGK TR-6's are good nitrous plugs. Take a look at our wet kits. We offer a lifetime warranty on them, if you're not happy with it we offer a full refund. Let us know if you have any other questions.

I agree,
You will be happier with the wet system.I suggest a Nitrous Express stage one system. They are hands done the best system on the market.

Re: 150 Shot!!!

as a precautionary measure id upgrade your fuel pump along with your injectors. 150 hp comming in suddenly is like taking a sledge hammer to your rods, id deffinately get a RPM window switch. how many miles on your car? if your over 100k dont even bother with a 150 shot just come in with a little something like a 75 shot, and the more daring you get keep moving up. i have a zex dry kit 125 shot and i love it! i also have a NOS wet kit (super powershot) on my plymouth laser RS turbo, that kit works well too although ive only touched it off very little (never had the need to)

TNT has some good products. However I do not like the idea of having two nozzles behind the throttle body spraying to the back of the intake. The front runners are way to close. The nitrous does not have enough tome to mix in the air streem and hit each runner properly.

Re: 150 Shot!!!

Sure, it wouldn't hurt to pull some timing, but it isn’t absolute necessary at that size shot.

PS - You never want the knock sensor to pull timing for you. It's a safety device to prevent detonation. If it's pulling timing for you then you're detonating.

Re: 150 Shot!!!

lol ok...i was jus thinkin since almost every1 has a few degrees anyways if that waS enough to make it safe for a 150 shot...but mostly i was wondering if 150 was ""Safe"" without pulling timing, or is everybody else pulling timing for that kinda shot? guess its not a must unless ur jus worried alot about it motor

Re: 150 Shot!!!

My experience, your results may vary.

Stock motor, stock fuel, 120k miles.

150 shot was only used 3x on dyno day, and a few times on the highway coming home from the dyno. Rest of the time was 100-125 jets. Never pulled timing, always ran at least 93 gas. Seemed to hold up just fine.

Mine was a cold fussion wet kit.

Here is what mine did. Clicky

I have a Nitrous Works plate wet system. I really like it. Im going tomorrow to get my car tuned and they are going to pull some timing to tune in my nitous. I am going to ask about running a 150 shot on stock internals.Im running 125 now and have run 2 15lb bottles through and everything is fine.69,000 miles

Re: 150 Shot!!!

I have a 150 shot on my stock bottom end 149k 94 z28. Its an nx wet kit with a tps switch and a window switch and fpss. Its made a best of 489rwhp with it rich dropping off the charts. I've ran two bottles of 150 through it and 3-4 bottles of 100 shot through it. If its set up right it should last. I also have some timing pulled out.
